When you arrive at Tamboti the first thing that you will experience is the serenity and tranquillity at the lodge and it is really something special. The idea to host Weddings here started with requests from guests visiting the Lodge – finally it was decided to give it a go and it started with small intimate ceremonies –which became a hit! The idea that couples could elope and get married under the African skies just 40 minutes drive from Pretoria created endless possibilities. Very quickly, more and more couples were begging to have guests attend their weddings and renewal of vows. Before we knew it, the package had grown to a capacity of 60 guests!
How we made it happen…
Derrick and Pixie the owners of Tamboti Lodge, and Rynette who was to later to become the wedding co-ordinator put their heads together and came up with The Plan – they designed and built a beautiful, romantic little chapel surrounded by trees, bush, lovely lawns and gardens. Pixie made all of the accessories needed for this special day and even created a beautiful little bridal pathway with white washed stones to add to the picture perfect setting. Fairy lights and lanterns were added and soon both Derrick and Pixie became well known to bridal couples throughout South Africa and abroad who were looking for that small intimate wedding and they ended up being known as the most perfect hosts any bridal couple could wish for. Always going the extra mile, in the absence of the brides father, Derrick even walks the bride to the chapel to meet her groom. For couples who have guests, the Luxury Bushveld Braai has become extremely popular and an absolute “must”. Our Sunset Safari Wedding on a Game Drive is perfect for those couples who simply want to elope and get married in the bush, under our pallet of African skies with simply nature as their witness ……

As you walk towards the entrance of Tamboti Bush Lodge, you will immediately have a sense of peace and tranquillity wash over you. You’ll just know that this is not your ordinary Bushveld Lodge. The atmosphere is one of total relaxation and you can actually feel the love and attention that owners Derrick and Pixie have given to this beautiful lodge. Completing the recipe of success is fast, friendly and professional staff – always willing to go the extra mile to give the best possible service at all times. All of this contributes to bridal couples both from home as well as abroad insisting on “tie – ing the knot” at Tamboti. It‘s also the reason why honeymoons, anniversaries and romantic weekends have become so popular.
Tamboti Bush Lodge is in the middle of the proposed Dinokeng Game Reserve opening 2nd quarter 2011. The area is malaria free and is only one hours drive from Johannesburg. The N1 Highway takes you to just 6 kms from the Game Reserve gates and 10 kms from Tamboti Bush Lodge, 30km’s North of Pretoria, making it one of the most favoured Bushveld Wedding settings throughout the Gauteng area.

We are currently constructing a wedding website site and this will give you a very good idea of what can be expected when visiting Tamboti Bush Lodge and give you all the necessary information required by a couple wanting to have a Bushveld or Sunset Safari wedding, a Romantic Bush honeymoon, anniversary or simply a romantic weekend getaway.
