The Dinokeng Game Reserve is the first free-roaming Big 5 game reserve in Gauteng – and probably in the world – next to an urbanized area. Only 1 hour’s drive from the thriving metropolis of Johannesburg and Pretoria (and from OR Tambo International Airport), this malaria-free area is a delight for our overseas and local visitors alike.
Our Wildlife
Dinokeng is the home of the big and the small – from the tiniest insects to the mighty elephant, we have it
all. The birdlife in the reserve is phenomenal: due to the different types of bushveld there are over 400 species of birds in the area, a bird spotters delight. Game drives and self-drives will introduce our guests to the variety of herbivores and carnivores in our reserve.
