Arika Jongman comes to Tamboti

A young lady from Holland who has been volunteering for many, many years at an orphanage in the Dinokeng game reserve and it’s in Dutch for our European clients. Arika has been coming to visit at Tamboti for many years and decided to give us an interview in Dutch for our many guests in the Netherlands. When all of our other South African guests are all looking at the cold pool in horror in the middle of winter then Arika and the volunteers from the Netherlands are having a ball.

For the last sixteen years volunteers mainly young ladies have been coming to our local orphanage Tshepo ya Bana to look after baby orphans from our local community.

"Formed in 2003, Tshepo ya Bana ("Hope for Children" in the Setswana language) aims to provide a loving Christian family environment for unwanted or abandoned children. All children under three years of age are accepted regardless of state of health or background."

Arika and many more young volunteers from all over the world have given up their time over the last sixteen years , either gap years or just holidays and come to South Africa to do the most amazing work at the orphanage and so many of them have spent their off duty times at Tamboti Bush Lodge, sometimes just to have a swim or have a meal or to use our WiFi. We salute you.
